Ferrari F50 Gt Engine
The ferrari f50 gt also known as the ferrari f50 gt1 was a racing derivative of ferrari f50 intended to compete in the bpr global gt series against other series rivals such as the mclaren f1 gtr.
Ferrari f50 gt engine. This was also due to lack of funding. It wasnt the best ferrari f1 car but it was far from the worst. Unlike the f40 that sported the twin turbo v8 the f50 is fitted with a rear mid engine naturally aspirated dohc 47l v12 engine. This ferrari f50 v12 engine was built to f50 gt specifications along with three chassis and another three or four race specification engines.
Specifically the engine that debuted in the 1995 ferrari f50 was a revised version of the 1990 ferrari 641. The f50 gt clocked some very impressive speeds at fiorano but the project was never followed up by ferrari as it was concentrating most of its energies at the time on its formula 1 comeback. After the series folded ferrari was unhappy with homologation specials such as the porsche 911 gt1 being allowed in the newly formed fia world championship and decided to cancel the project due. The f50s engine predated the car.
It had the same size engine as the f50 a clutch with carbon fibre disks and a sequential gearbox.
